The Mother City has again proven why it remains a top global travel destination! Cape Town has been named Africa’s Leading City Destination 2024 in the prestigious 31st World Travel Awards, marking the third consecutive year it has won this highly coveted title.
These achievements remind us again why Cape Town is a must-visit location, with its world-class Hotels, epic scenery and a rich culture and history.
Cape Town’s Port and Luxury Stays Take Top Honours
In addition to the city itself being recognized, the Port of Cape Town was named Africa’s Leading Cruise Port 2024, enhancing its reputation as a world-class hub for luxury cruise liners. Cape Town’s busy port certainly has one of the most scenic approaches to a city anywhere in the world.
The city’s luxurious hospitality sector also shone brightly in the awards. The Westin Cape Town took home the title of South Africa’s Leading Business Hotel, offering business travellers unparalleled comfort and exceptional service in the city’s heart.
Cape Town’s Luxury Hotels and Resorts Stand Out
Other Cape Town landmarks received accolades, highlighting the city’s diverse luxury accommodation options.
One of my favourites, the One & Only Cape Town, was named Africa’s Leading Luxury Resort. It features world-class amenities and a prime location in the heart of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Cape Grace was honoured as Africa’s Leading Luxury Hotel, continuing its legacy of providing elegant, top-tier hospitality with a uniquely Cape Town charm.
The Silo received the award for South Africa’s Leading Design Hotel, known for its iconic architecture and amazing views of Table Mountain, the ocean and the waterfront.
Congratulations to all the winners, especially the CBD stakeholders, for keeping Cape Town on the global tourism map!
