Next up for our Q & A with a wellness professional is Debi Rudden, Reflexologist and Massage Therapist from Body Links.
Q. Firstly, please share with us exactly what it is that you do and the service that you offer?
I work with my clients to help them to achieve and then maintain true health and wellness. I use various modalities as well as recommending Forever Living products – Aloe Vera based health and wellness products. The range includes daily nutritional and supplements, hygiene products skin care, pet & home care.
My treatments include;
Therapeutic Reflexology Treatment
A holistic non-evasive treatment which works on the theory that the feet mirror the body and all organs, glands and other body parts can be mapped onto areas of the hands or feet called reflexes.
Reflexology promotes healing, rebalancing & relaxation
Holistic Massage
A health promoting & rejuvenating massage which alleviates muscle tension & aids relaxation, working on the client’s individual needs
Lymph Drainage Massage
A very gentle, but highly effective technique that encourages the natural circulation of the lymph through the body, to improve the overall functioning of the lymphatic system.
Meridian Massage
Works along the 12 energy pathways of the body assisting in clearing any blockages or congestion and stimulating the free flow of Qi(chi) (energy) through the body. Qi is the vital energy within the body, that nourishes the body & mind
Q. Tell us about your training and how you got to be a Reflexologist?
I started my journey as a massage therapist and while volunteering at the local hospital realised that people loved to have their feet worked on and found it very beneficial.
I studied reflexology through IARAMT (International academy of reflexology and meridian therapy) which was a 2-year course, qualifying beginning 2013, cum lade and top of my class.
Q. How will Reflexology help people? How would they benefit by doing it and working with you?
Reflexology on a regular basis helps bring balance to all areas of the body, mind and spirit. Some of the benefits of regular reflexology are;
Stress relief, Allergy relief, Reduced back and neck tension, Relief from pain, More mobile joints, Promotion of good sleeping habits, Improved digestion, Rebalancing of hormones, Promotion of fertility, Improved circulation and Improved mental awareness
It should however be noted that reflexology is not a quick fix, but rather stimulates the body to heal itself. Therefore, the patient needs to take responsibility for their own wellbeing and may be required to make certain lifestyle changes.
I believe that true health comes from a balanced and healthy life style, so I work with my clients using the modalities that best suit their needs at the particular time and giving advice and recommendations on nutrition and life style. It is very important to work holistically and cover all areas bod, mind and soul.
Q. What is one helpful idea you can give to our wonderful readers on how to live a more purposeful, inspired and fulfilled life?
Healthy is not a goal but a way of life. It’s all about balance and looking after all areas of the body – body, mind and soul. Be conscious of your health on a daily basis and take all things in moderation.
Q. How can people reach you?
